We have had a fair number of curious folk, wanting to know more about how our STEM Programme is progressing, quite a few wanted to know some of the detail, for those this is the original STEM Programme announcement and communication to our staff. If any of our Customer or Supplier base wish to get onvolved or contribute, just come and find us. You're always welcome.
Our History
Almost 40 years ago two brothers Leslie and Aubey Friedman started their own metal pressings business and it was called Reliable Pressings. Its success attracted new investors and from this arose Master Pressings, which for the following 35 years was based in Jeppestown. It thrived and grew its customer base across many industries. In 2017, the decision was made for the business to make some fundamental changes which included moving to Boksburg as it had outgrown its premises and found Boksburg was more convenient for both our suppliers and customers. Key to these changes was finding new business partners. The formation of a new entity and the sale of assets to Reliable Pressings signals the formalisation of this new partnership. Aubrey has not disappeared, and remains very involved inthe business in a consultative capacity.

This is the core of the Reliable Pressings business, who we are, what we look like, our various responsibilities.
 Aubrey was the founder of Master Pressings, and now consults to the new Reliable Pressings which has emerged. Aubrey is no longer a shareholder in Reliable Pressings but returns as a Director of the business after a long period of serious illness with a brand new kidney. Aubrey provides the engineering vision and innovation that made Master Pressings so successful and which Reliable Pressings will require in the immediate future. Ironically Aubrey is more busy and spends more time in the business than he has in the last 10 years. Aubrey deals with the more complex requests that the business receives, especially on the hydraulic and deep draw side and is indispensible in bridging the gap between customer requirements, quoting, tool making and production. It is fantastic to have both his wisdom, great insight and generous personality back in the business after so many years.

 In keeping with our new focus on becoming a more customer centric business, Angel is Reliable Pressings' Customer Custodian. Angel and Ivan first worked together more than a decade ago on a successful business turnaround of one of Old Mutual's business units. Since then Angel has worked in Business Development and Key Account Management in Healthcare, Online Businesses, Distribution and Manufacturing. Angel is responsible for the acquisition of new large corporate clients and ensuring that the business develops those enablers required to better service our large customers. Angel is the first individual in the history of the business to ever be devoted entirely to focusing entirely on our customer base, understanding their needs better, providing insights into how they perceive us and how we can improve our service to them. Angel also plays a key role in managing our raw material supplier base.

 Nico represents Reliable's BEE shareholders and provides board over-sight for the business. Nico holds a non-executive position in Reliable,
but facilitates many of the strategic projects and new business development initiatives.
Nico has held executive positions in various blue chip companies across Retail, Financial Services, FMCG and Telecommunications.
He also holds personal interests in multiple business ventures across Commercial Property, Hospitality, Software, Manufacturing, Branding and Gifting.
Much of the culture Reliable Pressings has adopted, and is developing, as in the manner in which it conducts itself with all our stakeholders and interested parties, emanates from Nico's
foundational belief in the importance of pursuing a Noble Purpose and serving our community.

 Ivan has a B.Sc Engineering degree from UCT, and an MBA from INSEAD, France, and
various odd qualifications from Wharton & Caltech, like Gamification and Astro-physics. His 30 year career has
taken him from New York to Toyko, and from London to Johannesburg with Paris, Houston and Frankfurt in between. He has worked on a wide range of businesses
including automotive production lines, defense engineering, banking, insurance, eCommerce and IT services. He has extensive experience in
strategy, business management, business restructurings and process engineering. Ivan is the custodian of Reliable Presings' ISO 9001/2015
accreditation and overall Quality Management and continuous improvement activities. He is responsible for Reliable Pressings' Finance, Compliance, Strategy and overall business performance.

 Leslie does all our non standard specialist quotes and is responsible for raw material sourcing
and supplier management. Leslie founded Master Pressings more than 30 years ago and has more energy and drive than men half his age.

 Dawn has been with Master Pressings for 15 years and has worked in the metal fastener and manufacturing industry for nearly all her career.
Dawn runs all dispatching, does all the standard quoting and repeat business and manages key parts of the manufacturing process.

 Rina is the Reliable Pressings book keeper and does all our billing and invoicing and manages the SAGE financial system for us, she supports Jessica our accountant. Rina is also the custodian and gate-keeper to all day to day expenses, noone but her is entrusted with looking after any form of petrol card or credit card . |
 Jessica is based in Cape Town. After graduation with a B.Comm from Potchefstroom she worked at Ernst & Young, Barclays Business Banking and until recently was the Finance Manager at
PGBI Group Construction. She is responsible for accounting, tax and cash management. Jessica provides discipline and over-sight to the business and ensures the business complies with the highest accounting standards and good governance.
